Negative taken for September 22, 1963, Arkansas Gazette article "Stuttgart Has Art-As Well as Rice," E5:2. Part of the photographer's series on arts and crafts. The Arkansas County Arts Festival is held in Stuttgart, Arkansas County, Arkansas, every September. The festival was founded by artist, A.P. "Pete" Finken. The festival helps support local Arkansas artists by showcasing their works to the public. Edwin Brewer and Mrs. James Oliver, Jr., who served as judges, are shown with Arkansas County winner painting, a still life by Mrs. Jeannie Stone, Route 2, Almyra, Arkansas County, Arkansas. Serving as judge of the Festival, Brewer of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas was the curator of the Arkansas Art's Center "Artmobile" and son of an Arkansas artist, Adrian Brewer. Mrs. Oliver of Stuttgart was the general chairman of the Festival in 1963.
